Big weekend coming, WBC semi finals on Saturday and Sunday. March Madness begins.
First, a few March Madness upsets/predictions from TSV.
Love Western Kentucky over Illinois
UCLA will get everything they want and more from VCU and NBA prospect Eric Maynor. VCU prevails with Maynor able to out-play UCLA's best player Darren Collison.
Everyone loves the 5-12 upsets and everyone loves to hate on the Big 10, however, Purdue will win and win easy over Northern Iowa.
For a Thursday blowout special, look for Memphis to hammer CSUN during the noon game.
On Friday, Cleveland State from the Horizon conference will not be intimidated by Wake, Wake will win, but 'by less than experts think' (Lee Corso)
North Dakota State is playing within 250 miles of campus vs Kansas on Friday and has become a trendy 3-14 upset. No Way. Jayhawks roll by 18+
Lastly from the NCAA, 4 teams seeded 6 or lower with a serious chance to make major noise.
West Virginia, Arizona State, BYU, and USC
From the WBC, Anyone who thinks that MLB is clearly the best baseball league in the world is...
exactly right....
That being said, Japan, Korea and Cuba each have several players that would be major contributors on ANY MLB roster.
Special note goes to Japan starting pitcher vs Cuba on Wednesday night Hisashi Iwakuma. The guy throws a 2 seamer, 4 seamer, splitter, slider and curveball. Poised on the mound and cool under pressure. Would be a number one or two pitcher on almost every MLB team.
